How Wrong

HOW WRONG

I've been counting all the cards
Don't know how many in the deck
Should I ring you, should I ring you
Or would you wring my neck?

So many things surround you
Which are crutches, which are dross?
And if I replaced them
Would you ever feel the loss?

I tried to be your friend
I couldn't play that strategy
You think no-one loves you
How wrong can you be?

I can't see you where you work
I imagine you asleep
It's almost like I watch you
Breathing soft and dreaming deep

I tried to be your friend
But it wasn't fooling me
You think no-one loves you
How wrong can you be?

I shouldn't follow you around
Like some great and secret show
Tell me you love me, black eyes
Or tell me it's time to go

I tried to be your friend
But everyone could see
You think no-one loves you
How wrong can you be?

I presume you have ideas about the leadvoice part, could you let us hear what you have in mind?

Hoi Marco,

I have no idea, but surely not as me.
Grinchy had a awesome vocal on 'Short Punksong - Parasites'.
Something like that would be very cool.

Greetz,
Henk

Hey Fellas,

I'd be honored to give vocals a whirl on this song. I'll try and do something in the next few days. Cool music, great lyrics. We'll make it happen.

Ok folks,

Here is what i worked on this afternoon. The way i recorded this, it sounds like there's room for another verse. The music didn't match the lyrics precisely, so I thought perhaps we could incorporate a solo before the final chorus. Or, maybe someone would like to write another verse.

This isn't my best performance ever. I could probably coarsed to do a little better, or maybe even add harmony if anyone is interested, otherwise I think it's decent enough.

I submitted vocal tracks that are pretty unprocessed as far as compression (I compressed them pretty heavily on my mix), so that whomever is interested can have more control. If you want wavs with or without FX, let me know.

My quick and dirty mix - HowWrong(GinchyMix8-16-09).mp3 (2.28 MB)

Chorus double vox - ChorusDoubleGinchy-HowWrong(8-16-09).mp3 (3.51 MB)

Harmony vox - HarmonyGinchyVox-HowWrong(8-16-09).mp3 (3.51 MB)

Main Vox - MainGinchyVox-HowWrong(8-16-09).mp3 (3.51 MB)

Hi Bas...welcome to v-band

Yeah, this sounds cool...I like it. That guitar comes up huge! It simply adds another dimension, and now that you've done that...it feels odd when its not doing that...lol

Just kidding about that...it sounds good man, all of it. I stronger mix particular in the vocal and synth (that rhythm thing) areas. Like what? lol... I would lower the synth 6db and raise the vocals 6 to 8 db. Just a guess though. Good job on this guys.

I think that the rythm guitar can also go more into the background. I feel that it is to prominent now.

Hey Folks,

So I redid the vocals, and I'm much happier with them now. I added some harmony. Here is a rough mix... the chorus vocals are a little overcooked and the mp3 sounds a lit sub-standard quality (my sample rate must be messed up...), but you'll get the idea.

I'll upload the wavs later this evening.

Everything AND the kitchen sink! So, there are a lot of tracks. The mix I did omitted portions of certain harmonies... I just wanted to keep the track interesting by way of development... that is, as the song progresses, I added more harmony each time the chorus repeats.

However, I decided to upload the full versions of each harmony so that you'd have full control when you mix it this weekend. I also messed with the arrangement of the instruments just for fun. I think it's a great track! Personally, I'd like to hear a little more variation through-out instrumentally. I think more dynamic range would increase the listenability.

Here's my latest mix:

HowWrong(9-11-09).mp3 (6.72 MB)

And here are all the files in wav format:

CHORUS HARMONY 1: CHORUS-HARMONY-VOX1(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

CHORUS HARMONY 1 Double: CHORUS-HARMONY-VOX2(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

CHORUS HARMONY 2: CHORUS-HARMONY-VOX3(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

CHORUS HARMONY 2 double: CHORUS-HARMONY-VOX4(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

CHORUS MELODY: CHORUS-MELODY-VOX1(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

CHORUS MELODY double: CHORUS-MELODY-VOX2(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

VERSE HARMONY:VERSE-HARMONY-VOX(9-11-09).wav (38.68 MB)

VERSE MELODY: VERSE-VOX(9-11-09).wav (38.66 MB)

this turned out really great Henk! That cartoon effect is very fitting, and i really like the way you superimposed our images over one another. You managed to make a video where we just stand in front of our cameras playing very entertaining! It's pretty mind-blowing considering we haven't met in real life and many of us are in different countries!

I happen to have a copy of Henk's album (he posted a link above) and it's really quite good. I suggest everybody check it out.

so when's the next album going to be done Henk?

Great job Henk, groundbreaking stuff having you all on one vid - well done, I enjoyed it.

V-Band should look to this as the future I feel. More complexity can come with the ease of applications.

Ginchy looks so Roger Waters 2010, lol - classic.
